I saw this last night and it has basically been stuck in my head since. My climate anxiety grows every single day with it seeming like terrible news never stops. There's injustices towards my friends in all different marginalized groups and it feels like "What can you even start doing to help?". This quote gives me courage. No one person needs to solve every problem, but if we all try and focus on different things and each pick a path towards making the world a little bit better, eventually it'll all start to add up. So start picking.

one of my professors, a historian who has been interviewed as an expert in various documentaries, said that the secret to documentaries is saying something very obvious, as slowly as possible. for example, if you say “the romans…….. enjoyed their dinner parties” or "being a gladiator... was... very... dangerous" then the filmmakers can get that clip and immediately pan over some cool pictures of mosaics or something. this has forever changed the way i view documentaries

rb and tell me the one thing that always happens to you before you’re about to start your period

for like two weeks before my anxiety starts going through the rOOF also I get lowkey suicidal which isn't fun so yes I essentially spend half the month feeling that way 🫠 but then the day I get my period I experience a brief high which is nice oh and sometimes there's random aches and breast sensitivity but that's not always the case also oof going through the tags and more people need to look up pmdd! getting depressed and suicidal before a period isn't just regular pms! PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) and PME (premenstrual exacerbation) are disorders that can fuck one up mentally but there's meds and other stuff that might help you don't necessarily have to go through that emotional wringer every month! or at the very least I find that simply knowing such disorders exist and acknowledging them as a possible reason for how I'm feeling helps
